Overview
Modus is an AC EV charging station composed of a fully functional main module and four optional attachments that serve specific needs across different environments. Its modular design allows users to customize the charger for offices, apartment complexes, hotels, or public spaces.
The form is derived from a Cairo pentagonal tiling pattern, ensuring that all modules fit together in a geometrically cohesive and scalable system.

Modules
- Main Unit: Basic charger with LED indicator, Type 2 socket, and power supply
- Display Module: Touchscreen for diagnostics and payment
- Energy Storage Module: 1kW emergency backup battery
- Communication Module: NFC/RFID + Bluetooth + WiFi
- Power Boost Module: For faster charging speeds or multiple users

Features
- Color-coded light feedback for clarity
- Modular mold system to reduce production costs
- Injection-molded hard plastic + aluminum parts
- Wall- or stand-mounted flexibility

Reflection
Modus allowed me to explore how modularity enhances adaptability in product ecosystems. Designing for different customer scenarios, from service providers to individual users, taught me how to prioritize both core function and configurable complexity.
